Underpinning my work is an interest in the contingency and fragility of the constructed self. This shows itself in instances where its unity is threatened or collapses, and psychological fragmentation occurs, i.e. following a traumatic experience. How can one communicate something which in its experiencing destroys sense?

Through mixed-media drawing and installation I hint at an absent unity behind the various fragmented elements. Much of my work engages with the twin ideas of construction and dissolution, often employing geological metaphors.
